Adjusting the position of the L40 machine latch

In the instructions below you will learn how to adjust the latches in L40 machines step by step.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Allen key 2.5 m – new type of door
  • 7mm open-end wrench – old type of door
  • New latch, suitable for our type of door
  • PZ2 screwdriver
  • Long-handled flat-head screwdriver (at least 20cm)

Preparing the device

The latches in L40 machines are used to lock the doors from opening and prevent access to the articles stored inside.

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

Opening the machine door

  • Before turning off the machine, unlock all doors of the machine
  • Log in to the machine using an account with administrator rights and access SERVICE options
  • Enter the main menu and select the option SERVICE,
  • in the case of the SERVICE option, wait for the service application to launch,
  • then select the option – DIAGNOSTICS,
  • then options – DIAGNOSTICS APPLICATION VMSA and after starting the VMSA application,
  • enter the list of scripts using the middle button,
  • select MAINTENANCE,
  • Then run the UNLOCK FLAPS script,

Emergency opening of the machine door

In the case of doors that are blocked and do not respond to the standard opening method, use the following method.

  1. Determine on which level the door that you want to open in an emergency is located,
  2. Go behind the machine and unscrew the cover of the service opening using a screwdriver PZ2 at the level we are interested in,
  3. Reach inside with a flat screwdriver and press the electromagnet that locks the door you are interested in from above, the spring mounted on the hinge should then automatically open the door.
  4. Screw the service hold cover back into place.
  5. Start the machine again and go to “Opening the machine door” stage if you need to adjust additional door latches.

Adjusting or replacing the latch

  • Depending on whether our machine has:
    – new type of latch – use a 2.5mm Allen key,
    – old type of latch – use an open-end wrench 7
  • loosen the screw or nut,
  • Adjust the height and, in the case of old latch, make sure that it is not tilted to the left or right,
  • Gently tighten the screw or nut and close the door gently to check whether the bolt is in the central position of the hole,
  • If necessary, we adjust its height again,
  • If the bolt is already in the right position, tighten it,
  • Close the door.

Correct closing and deleting of opening registers

If you have already adjusted the latches of all the doors you are interested in, proceed to the last steps below to delete the opening register and lock the doors.

  1. Log in to the machine using an account with administrator rights, we need access to service options,
  2. Enter the main menu and select the SERVICE option,
    • in the case of the SERVICE option, we wait for the service application to launch,
    • then select the option – DIAGNOSTICS,
    • then options – DIAGNOSTICS APPLICATION VMSA and after starting the VMSA application, enter the list of scripts using the middle button,
    • select MAINTENANCE,
  1. Click CLEAR OPENINGS and check whether all LEDs have turned green,
  2. Then lock all flaps by selecting the LOCK FLAPS script.
  3. Log out of the service application.

How to open the right door of the drum machine

In this section you will learn how to open the right door of the drum machine.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Open-end wrench 10

Preparing the device

The ability to open the right door is one of the basic ones that you need to perform many service activities. The right door is secured with two bolts and you should not try to force it open!

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

Opening the machine

  • Open the left door.
  • Open the right door:
    • Loosen the lower stop hexagon bolt – M6x16 with serrated washers M6 and the widened flat washer
      M6 with a wrench 10 so that it turns freely in the fingers,
    • Loosen the upper stop hexagon bolt – M6x16 with serrated washers M6 and the widened flat washer
      M6 with a wrench 10 so that it turns freely in the fingers,

  • Pull the door towards you,
  • Unscrew the screws securing the upper and lower stop completely,

Closing the machine

  • Close the right door:

By screwing the upper and lower stops with hexagonal bolts M6x16 with serrated washers M6 and a widened flat washer M6 – remember to check if the stops are under the flat washers to make sure that the door is properly secured.

  • Tighten the upper and lower stops to prevent manual opening of the right door.
  • Close the left door

Installation of the machines

In this section you will learn how to install drum machines step by step.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Utility knife
  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Spirit level
  • Open-end wrench 13
  • Open-end wrench 10
  • Open-end wrench 24
  • Phillips screwdriver PH2
  • Open-end wrench 7 or Allen wrench 5 depending on the type of the safety switch pusher
  • Thread adhesive
  • Digital multimeter to verify the voltage in the customer’s electrical network

Preparing the device

D540, D810 or D1080 are called drum machines. Their correct installation reduces the risk of damage to the machine and enables its correct usage. Below you will learn how to install them step by step!

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

If the machine was delivered on a dedicated pallet, proceed from point 1. However, if it was delivered without a pallet, points 1 to 7 can be skipped.

  1. Lift the machine gently with a pallet truck, so that it is slightly lifted from the ground,
  2. Cut two belts securing the pallet, they are visible in the photo with a knife, and remove them,
  3. Unscrew all the hexagonal wood screws 8×70 with a flat enlarged washer M8, using a flat wrench 13, which fixes the pallet beams to its base,

  1.  After unscrewing all the screws, if you have lifted the machine on a pallet truck high enough, you should be able to remove all the beams from under the machine,
  2. Unscrew the legs of the machine enough that, after the pallet truck is lowered, it can be removed from under the machine, remembering to unscrew each of them the same amount, so none of them would be significantly longer
  3. If, after lowering the pallet truck, the machine still does not stand on it’s own on the floor, lift it again gently and unscrew the legs a little more, (Do this until the machine can be safely left on the ground.),
  4. Remove the rest of the pallet from under the machine,
  5. Carefully cut the stretch wrapped around the machine, I suggest cutting on the cardboard corners to avoid scratching the machine,
  6. After removing the stretch wrap, remove all cardboard corners,
  7. Take out the key to the machine door, which is in the pocket on the back of the machine, covered with a yellow sticker with the key icon,

  1. Open the left door of the machine and take out the power cord and the pusher of the safety-switch located in one of the drum cells,
  2. Verify that the main switch of the machine, which is located on the power supply shown in the photo, is in the off position,

  1. Close the left door of the machine,
  2. Connect the power cord to the socket to which the machine will be connected, without connecting the other end to the machine power supply,
  3. Measure with a digital multimeter in the AC voltage mode, the supply voltage from the socket between these two points, it should be 120 volts ± 6%.e,

  1. Transport the machine with a pallet truck to the place where you want to install it and put it on the floor, leaving enough space from the wall to connect the power cord to the machine’s power supply,

When placing the machine, be careful not to put the machine foot on the power cord, it may damage wire internally, and consequently short a circuit and damage the machine!

  1. Connect the power cord to the machine’s power supply.
    If the machine is going to connect to the internet via the LAN network, connect the LAN cable previously prepared by the customer to the connector on the rear panel of the machine.

  1. Level the machine according to the instructions – See Machine Leveling
  2. Open the left door of the machine,
  3. If the machine is going to connect to the Internet via GSM network and you will need to install a SIM card, follow the instructions – Replacing or Installing a SIM Card.
  4. Turn on the machine with the main power switch located next to the F2 fuse,
  5. Observe the icons appearing on the screen which indicates the state of machine’s established connections:
      • LAN connection icon, if it is black it means there is no connection, if it is blue it means there is an established connection via LAN
      • The GSM connection icon, if it is black, means no connection, if blue lines appear, they indicate the strength of the GSM connection
      • VPN connection icon, if it is black it means there is no connection, if it is blue it means there is a connection established via VPN
  1. When you see the main screen with a clock in the middle, it means that the operating system of the machine has started.

Machine leveling

In this section you will learn how to properly level every machine.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Open-end wrench 24
  • Open-end wrench 10
  • Open-end wrench 13
  • Spirit levels

Preparing the device

Each of the machines, in order to function properly, should be leveled each time it is moved to another place and during its installation. Properly leveled machine can prevent mechanical damage that may occur during its everyday use. Each of the machines levels in the same way, so the instructions can be used universally.

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

  1. Place the device in a place where it is to be leveled and used,

Remember that if you are transporting any of the machines with a pallet truck or forklift, its forks must extend beyond the perimeter of the automat’s frame to avoid mechanical damage to the automat.

  1. Looking at the front of the machine, set the spirit level on the roof,
  2. Using an open-end wrench 24, correct the level setting by unscrewing or screwing in the two front feet, verifying the spirit levels with each turn,

Remember to make sure the spirit level is not placed on top of any screws and that it is set properly on the top of the machine.

  1. Put the spirit levels on the roof of the machine, this time from the left side,
  2. Regulate the level of the machine with the left rear foot,
  3. Put the spirit levels on the roof of the machine, this time from the right side and adjust the level with the right rear foot,

In the case of leveling L40 machines, it is absolutely necessary to measure the diagonals of the machine looking at it from the front. If the diagonals differ by more than 2mm, adjust the level!

Opening left door

In this section you will learn how to open the left door step by step.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door

Opening the left door is a basic skill necessary to operate the vending machine and shouldn’t be a problem for anyone, but if for some reason you find yourself on this section, you will find all the necessary information here.

  • If you are in the process of installation and have just unpacked the machine, the key to the machine should be in a pocket mounted on the back of the machine casing, secured with a yellow sticker with a picture of the key.

    1. Insert the key into the lock on the left door of the machine,
    2. Turn the key,
    3. Pull the door towards you.
    4. Done, good job!

    1. Insert the key into the lock on the left door of the machine,
    2. Close the machine’s left door,
    3. Turn the key,
    4. Remove the key from the lock
    5. Done, good job!

Replacing or installing a SIM card

In this section you will learn how to install a SIM card in vending machines step by step.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • The key to the door of the machine
  • Flat wrench 10
  • PZ2 screwdriver
  • SIM card with deactivated PIN

In vending machines, the SIM card is used to connect to the Internet, which is important because it enables data synchronization with the IDS server.

Preparing the device

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

  1. Turn off the machine according to the instructions – See Safe Shutdown and Switch ON of the Machine,
  2. Open left door
  3. Open right door
  4. Remove the 3 screws B3.5×6.5 using a Phillips screwdriver PZ2 securing the VMMB cover to the
    mounting plate,
  5. Open the SIM card tray by sliding it in the direction shown in the picture below and lift it to
    insert the SIM card,

Be care not to damage the SIM tray as it is fragile. Carefully and slowly lift it.

  1. Insert the SIM card in the correct orientation, i.e. with the notch in the lower right corner,
  2. Press the tray to the motherboard and close it by sliding it in the opposite direction of opening it,
  3. Fasten the 3 screws B3.5×6.5 using a Phillips screwdriver PZ2 to secure the VMMB cover to the mounting plate,
  4. Close the right door,
  5. Start the machine,
  6. Close the left door.

Replacing the L40 latch blockade

In this section you will learn how to correctly replace the L40 latch blockade of the latch in L40 machines.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Screwdriver PZ2
  • Screwdriver PH1
  • New latch blockade

The L40 machine’s latch blockade is responsible for preventing unauthorized opening of the machine cells. Damage to the blockade may result in attempts to force the opening of the L40 machine. In the instruction below, you will learn how to correctly replace such a blockade, step by step.

Preparing the device

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

  1. Verify that the machine is leveled correctly – See Machine Leveling,

Opening the machine

  1. Before turning off the machine, you must unlock all the machine’s door:
    • Log into the machine with an account with administrator rights, we need access to servicing options,
      • Enter the main menu and select the option MACHINE SERVICING or SERVICE,
        in the case of the SERVICE option, we are waiting for the service application to start,
      • then select the option – DIAGNOSTICS,
  1. options in turn – DIAGNOSTICS APPLICATION VMSA and after starting the VMSA application, enter the list of scripts using the middle button,
  2. choose MAINTENANCE,
  3. Then we start the script UNLOCK THE FLAPS,
  4. Open all the doors to gain access to the front panel of the L40,
  5. Then turn off the L40 automaton using the main switch located on the power supply under the machine. Power switch is located next to the F2 fuse,

  1. Unscrew the 20 screws B3.5×6.5 on both sides of the front panel, using a screwdriver PZ2 that fasten the front panel to the rest of the machine. In the photo below it is marked as 1,

  • 2 - screws fixing the microswitch (limit switch) to the front panel,
  • 3 - screws securing the latch’s blockade to the front panel.
  1. Carefully tilt the front panel without removing it completely from the machine and rest it on a solid base, e.g. a chair, toolbox, etc., taking care not to scratch it or tear off the cables connected to it at the bottom,

If in our machine the highest placed cell is a single one, you will first have to pull the panel out at the bottom, otherwise the microswitches located at the top will catch on the machine frame, which may damage them. Carefully remove the panel at the bottom so as to not damage the cables connected to it.

  1. Find the level on which the latch’s blockade is located and unscrew the two screws securing it to the panel. In the photo above they are marked as 3,

When unscrewing these two screws, it is suggested to hold the lock from the inside so that the nuts in the blockade do not fall into the panel. If you lose a nut in the middle of the panel, it can potentially lead to a short circuit, which results in damage to the machine.

  1. Take out the nuts from the old blockade and put them in the new one,
  2. Install the new blockade as shown in the photo below in place of the old one, holding the nuts so that they do not fall inside the panel and tighten both screws,

  1. Carefully lift the panel up,

Make sure that before putting the front panel in its place, the wires connected to the panel are securely inserted inside of the machine and that you will not damage them by inserting the panel!

  1. Gently slide the front panel into place and screw all 20 screws along the entire panel on both sides marked in the photo below as 1,

  1. Switch on the machine,
  2. Verify the position of the flaps on each level and make sure that the latch is properly set,
  3. Close the flaps on all levels.

Safe shutdown and switch ON of the machine

In this section you will learn how to safely and completely disconnect the machine from the power supply and turn ON the machine!

Safe shutdown of the machine is important if we want to perform any service activities. It drastically reduces the possibility of accidental damage to the machine and is essential for safe servicing. Master machines are additionally equipped with a power backup that needs to be disconnected. Find out how to do all of this below.

Preparing the device

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe.   1. Verify that the machine is leveled correctly – See Machine Leveling,
  1. Open the machine:

  1. Switch off the machine using the switch on the power supply,

The machine’s main power switch is located next to the fuse F2 shown in the photo

  1. Wait about five minutes during which the machine makes a “beep” sound,

Listen for the characteristic “beeping”— the machine is turning off. The motherboard is then powered by a battery to safely terminate all processes taking place in the system and save all necessary information.

  1. Listen for three quick beeps which inform us about the end of the machine shutting down process,
  2. When the machine stops emitting these characteristic beeps, unscrew the F3 fuse in order to disconnect the battery from the VMMB-2B motherboard, which disconnects the machine’s power support,

Safe SWITCH ON

  1. Screw the fuse F3 back in its socket,
  2. Turn on the machine using the switch on the power supply, visible in the photo above, next to the fuse F2,
  3. Close right door,
  4. Close left door.

Brake replacement

In this section you will learn how to replace the brake in a drum machine.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Open end spanner 10
  • Phillips screwdriver PH2 – use of a screwdriver with a strong magnet is recommended
  • A marker to mark the brake position
  • Digital multimeter
  • Socket wrench 10 with T-handle
  • New brake – PN: 100778

Mechanical damage to the brake can be easily recognized by the fact that in the locked position the drum can still be turned. Damage to the brake can lead to unauthorized removal of articles from the machine. The brake is located at the bottom of the drum on the left side and it is used to physically block the drum in a specific position and prevent its rotation by unauthorized person removing articles from the machine.

PN stands for part number and it is a dedicated number assigned to each part of the machine. By giving it when ordering spare parts, we can be sure that we will get exactly what you need!

  3. Check the mains voltage on the customer side (120 volts ± 6%).
    Verify what’s the designated mains voltage in your country.

Replacing a component

  1. Unscrew the three screws M4x6 with the serrated washer M4 and the flat washer M4 using a screwdriver PH2,

  1. Unscrew the last screw M4x6 with the serrated washer M4 and the flat washer M4 that fasten the brake casing to the rest of the machine,

Make sure you remove it with both washers when unscrewing this screw. We suggest using a screwdriver with a strong magnet or when unscrewing the last screw and lift the housing up at the same time.

  1. Lift up and remove the casing,
    • in the D1080 machine, remove the casing,
    • in the D540 / D810 machines, after lifting the casing, set the drum so that it is possible to turn the casing 90° to the left so that it can be removed.

  1. Mark the position of the brake on the brake mounting plate,
  2. Disconnect the drum brake power supply cable,

  1. Remove the plug from the plug’s mounting plate by pressing it on the sides,

  1. Measure brake resistance by touching the multimeter probes in resistance mode, to the two black
    wires of the plug you just removed. Correct resistance should be 60Ω.
  2. Using a socket wrench, unscrew 10 with a T-type handle the screws securing the brake to the
    mounting plate, marked in the photo below,

  1. Remove the drum brake and put a new one in its position,
  2. Set it according to the previously marked position,
  3. Gently screw the drum brake to the mounting plate, using hexagonal bolts M6x12 with, serrated washers M6 and flat washers M6 – 18×6.4 mm, 1.6 mm mounting the brake so that you can still move it on the mounting plate,

In D540 / 810 machines, screw number 2 – M6x8 with serrated washers M6 and flat washers M6 – 18×6.4mm, 1.6mm is shorter than the rest. This is due to the smaller frame of those machines, located under the brake mounting plate.

Remember to put brake’s power supply plug mounting plate under the flat washer of the screw no. 4.

  1. Verify once again whether the new brake is in the previously marked position,
  2. Tighten the four bolts securing the brake to the mounting base,
  3. Put the plug into the mounting plate, and then connect the power plug to it,
  4. Make sure that the yellow lever unlocking the drum brake is in the vertical position,
  5. Put the brake casing back, in the case of D540/D810 machines follow the same steps as in point 3,

To make it easier, after turning the housing horizontally, you can already insert a screw M4x6 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4 into the rear casing opening, holding it with a screwdriver PH2 with a strong magnet.

  1. Gently lower the brake casing so that the yellow unlocking lever goes through the hole in the casing and the brake power suppling cable is in the appropriate gap in the casing,
  2. Screw the casing to the base using four screws M4x6 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4 using a screwdriver PH2,

Verification

  • Perform a drum test and check the functionality of the brake.

Brake’s frictional element replacement

In this section you will learn how to replace the frictional element of the brake step by step.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Open-end wrench 10
  • Phillips screwdriver PH2 – use of a screwdriver with a strong magnet is recommended
  • A marker to mark the brake position
  • Socket wrench 10 with T-handle
  • Two new M4x10 screws
  • Thread adhesive
  • New brake frictional element – PN: 100273

  1. Unscrew the three screws M4x6 with the serrated washer M4 and the flat washer M4 using a screwdriver PH2,

Make sure you remove it with both washers when unscrewing this screw. We suggest using a screwdriver with a strong magnet or when unscrewing the last screw and lift the housing up at the same time.

    • in the D1080 machine, remove the casing,
    • in the D540 / D810 machines, after lifting the casing, set the drum so that it is possible to turn the casing 90° to the left so that it can be removed.

  2. Disconnect the drum brake power supply cable,

  1. Remove the plug from the plug’s mounting plate by pressing it on the sides,

  1. Using a socket wrench, unscrew 10 with a T-type handle the screws securing the brake to the mounting plate, marked in the photo below,

  2. Remove the two screws M4x10 using a PH2 screwdriver, securing the brake frictional element to the rest of the brake,

  1. Cover the threads of the new screws M4x10 with a little thread adhesive, to firmly secure the new frictional element,
  2. Screw the new brake frictional element onto the brake, using two new screws M4x10 previously  covered with thread adhesive, using a screwdriver PH2,
  3. Put the drum brake in the previously marked position,
  4. Gently screw the drum brake to the mounting plate using hexagonal bolts **M6x12 * with serrated washers M6 and flat washers M6 – 18×6.4mm, 1.6 mm, mounting the brake so that we can still move it on the mounting base,

In D540 / 810 machines, screw number 2 – M6x8 with serrated washers M6 and flat washers M6 – 18×6.4 mm, 1.6 mm, is shorter than the rest. This is due to the smaller frame in this type of machine, located under the brake mounting plate.

Remember to put the mounting plate in place, for the brake power supply plug, under the flat washer of the screw no. 4.

  1. Verify once again whether the new brake is in the previously marked position,
  2. Tighten the four bolts securing the brake to the mounting base,
  3. Make sure that the yellow lever unlocking the drum brake is in the vertical position,
  4. Insert the brake casing, in the case of D540/D810 machines follow the same steps as in point 3,

To make it easier, after turning the housing horizontally, you can already insert a screw M4x6 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4 into the rear casing opening, holding it with a screwdriver PH2 with a strong magnet.

  1. Gently lower the brake casing so that the yellow unlocking lever goes through the hole in the casing,
  2. Screw the casing to the base using four screws M4x6 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4 using a screwdriver PH2,

Cleaning the door guides of the drum machine

In this section you will learn how to properly clean the door guides in drum machines.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Keys to the vending machine
  • PZ2 screwdriver
  • PH2 phillips screwdriver
  • Allen key 3

With the use of machines, dirt accumulates on the guides, which over time makes it difficult to open them. This can create situations where downloading an article is impossible or difficult. The instructions below provide information on how to avoid this.

Preparing the device

Before starting service activities, verify that the machine is not seriously damaged and that the service will be safe. Serious mechanical damage may cause potentially dangerous situations which are not covered by the instructions. For your own safety and that of others, in special cases repairs should not be performed.

  1. Verify that the machine is leveled correctly – See Machine Leveling,
  2. Turn off the machine according to the instructions – See Safe Shutdown and Switch ON of the Machine,

Opening the machine

Cleaning the door guides

  1. Unscrew the 7 screws B3.5×6.5 using a screwdriver PZ2, securing the cover of the left door panel,
  2. Unscrew the cover of the guides located on the left side of the door visible in the photo below using the Allen key 3. The screws of this cover are signed in the photo below with numbers on the left side,
  3. The guides are attached to the rest of the door with M4x20 screws. Unscrew them one by one, as they are numbered in the picture below, using the Allen key 3,

Do not unscrew all guides at once. Unscrew each of the guides one by one and clean them one by one using a cloth dampened with water.

  1. Some of the guides are also secured with a screw in the middle of the guide, which must be unscrewed using a PH2 screwdriver before attempting to remove the guide,
  2. Take out the guides you are interested in, clean it with a damp cloth and put it back,

  1. Repeat steps 3 to 5 until you have cleaned all the guides you want.
  2. Assemble the cover of the guides that you removed in point 2, using the screws M4x20 and the Allen key 3.
  3. Assemble the cover of the left door panel by screwing in 7 screws B3.5×6.5 using a screwdriver PZ2.

Cleaning

Tools & Parts Needed

Machine exterior

  • The vending machine must be clean (vacuumed with compressed air, cleaned with a cloth and WURTH cleaning foam or other agents which do not cause corrosion and do not damage the Plexiglas flaps).
  • Depending on the location where the machine is placed and the level of dust in the room, this should be done periodically, e.g. every month, or according to your own assessment of the machine’s condition.
  • The information/instructions on the vending machine must be legible and clear, with no unglued corners or dirty tape.
  • When replacing the instructions, it is best to thoroughly wash off the old adhesive with extraction gasoline and then wipe the place of the new sticker with WURTH cleaning foam to protect the painted surface from tarnishing.
  • IF THE SCREEN IS VISIBLY DIRTY FROM THE INSIDE, PLEASE REPORT THIS TO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN.

The vending machine drum

  • When loading, check the drum edge seal on each level, replace it if it does not adhere to the edges (IF NO SEAL is present, SERVICE MUST BE NOTIFIED, because the shelves are blocking the drum and may cause damage to the machine!)
  • When abrasive materials such as discs, papers, etc. are placed in the drum, the cells should be periodically vacuumed of falling corundum.
  • Areas where masks and other products in direct contact with the skin are loaded should be clean and wiped from time to time with wet wipes, e.g. for furniture.
  • Check the safety circuit button from time to time, i.e. whether it bounces back to the middle position when the door is opened. It is very important because its defect can cause the drum not to rotate or lose its so called 0 and the machine dispenses from incorrect cells or does not dispense at all.

Brake

  • Every time you load the machine check that the drum is properly locked, after locking the brake move the drum gently to the left and then to the right and check that you can turn the drum.
  • Once a month the area around and inside the brake must be cleaned, if possible with compressed air.
  • From time to time it would be appropriate to unlock the brake and gently turn the drum to check that it does not rub when rotating, if this problem occurs call Service immediately.

Left door/flaps

  • When loading, pay attention to the condition of the hinges, especially the bottom one.
  • From time to time, the hinge should be cleaned of dirt with a brush and blown with compressed air, if necessary, the lower quill can be sprayed with a minimum of WD-40.
  • It is very important to keep the runners and flaps clean. To do this, insert the card, enter the DISPENSER MAINTENANCE option, select UNLOCK FLAPS, then open the flaps as far as possible and perform the following actions:
  1. Blow out any remaining deposits with compressed air
  2. Check the corners of the runners for swarf residue, leather residue from gloves or other contaminants such as naps, blue residue from shoe inserts, corundum from discs etc.
  3. Clean the corners of the flap closure points with tweezers and blow out the residue again with compressed air
  4. When finished, physically close all flaps by moving them as far to the right as possible, select CLEAR OPENING REGISTER on the display and then select LOCK FLAPS. The flaps should turn red and the electromagnet should lock them
  • DESPITE CLEANING, IF THE FLAPS HARDLY MOVE OR DO NOT OPEN AT ALL, CALL SERVICE! THE CORRECT CONDITION OF THE FLAPS HAS A DIRECT INFLUENCE ON THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE MACHINE AND THE COMFORT OF ITS USERS, WHO HAVE THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON THE REPUTATION OF THE MACHINE

Disinfection

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies require that vending machines be disinfected. Under no circumstances should disinfectants be sprayed directly onto the flaps, as excess detergent combined with dust will stick to the flaps and guides, leading to complete blockage.
  • The correct way to carry out disinfection is to apply detergent to a soft cloth and clean the surface of the flaps and control panel with it.

STRICTLY PROHIBITED

  • Moving or relocating the machines, as this may invalidate the warranty.
  • Do not use any unsuitable materials, such as wood blocks, plastic pads or any other material available in the factory to support the machines. This does not comply with health and safety rules and endangers users as well as the machine itself, which contains rotating elements, the encoder and many other parts that may be damaged.
  • Placing any kind of liquids on the machine. Spilling will corrode the drum, damage the electronic components and may cause a puncture and electric shock accident.
  • Closing the door abruptly after loading and leaning against the machine door, which will damage the safety circuit cutout.

Supervision of the condition of the machines is the responsibility of the service technician, who is authorized to verify the condition of the machines and is obliged to inform their immediate superiors of any defects related to the condition of the machines.

Replacement or adjustment of the limit switch in the drum machine

In the instructions below you will learn how to replace or adjust the limit switch step by step!

Tools & Parts Needed

  • PZ2 screwdriver
  • PH1 phillips screwdriver
  • New limit switch

Preparing the device

  1. Unscrew the 7 screws B3.5×6.5 using a screwdriver PZ2, securing the cover of the left door panel,
  2. Unplug the electromagnet power harness from the VMDH board,

When unscrewing these screws, be very careful not to let the washer or the screw fall down, because they can cause a short circuit, which results in damage to the automatic unit!

  1. Remove the plate to which the 3 limit switches are attached,
  2. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the 3 limit switches together and replace the one you are interested in with a new one,
  3. Set the plate in the place where you took it out, apply the electromagnet to it and screw it gently with screws so that the plate can be moved,
  4. Press the plate with the limit switches to the plexiglass door so that they are activated when you try to open the flap,
  5. Screw the electromagnet to the end
  6. Connect the harness supplying the electromagnet to the VMDH plate,
  7. Screw it using 7 screws B3.5×6.5 using a screwdriver PZ2, fixing the cover of the left door panel,
  8. Turn on the machine according to the instructions – See Safe Shutdown and Switch ON of the Machine,
  9. Close left door

Safety-switch pusher adjustment

In the instructions below you will learn how to properly adjust the safety-switch pusher.

Tools & Parts Needed

  • Key to the vending machine door
  • Open-end wrench 7 if the pusher is a metal plate
  • Allen key 5 if the pusher is a screw M8x12

Correct adjustment of the safety-switch pusher is important. The safety-switch is responsible for detecting the opening of the door, if the pusher does not activate the switch, it will prevent taking articles out of the machine.

For the correct positioning of the pusher, the machine must be turned on. The pusher is in the lower left corner of the opened left door.

  1. Open left door
  2. Make sure machine is turned on

If the pusher in the machine is a metal plate:

  1. Gently unscrew the four hexagonal bolts M4x8 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4, using a flat wrench 7, so that you can move the metal plate freely,

  1. Press it towards the door as much as possible, then pull it towards you by 1mm,
  2. Screw in four screws with a hexagonal head M4x8 with a serrated washer M4 and a flat washer M4, using a flat wrench 7,
  3. Close the left door of the machine and listen for a characteristic beep, which informs us that the machine has successfully detected that the door is closed,
  4. If the machine does not make the characteristic beep, start again from point 1 and repeat these five points until we hear machine’s response.

If the pusher in the machine used a M8x12 screw:

  1. Cover the thread of a M8x12 screw with thread adhesive and screw it into the pusher’s mounting plate until the very end,
  2. Unscrew the screw by 1mm,

  1. Close the left door of the machine and listen for a characteristic beep, which informs us that the
    machine has successfully detected that the door was closed,
  2. If the machine does not emit a characteristic beep, go back to point 1. and redo those three points until
    you hear the machine’s response.
